Samwise Fowler, MSW, LCSWA

Samwise (they/he) is a queer, non-binary, ASD and ADHD graduate of the Master of Social Work program offered jointly by North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. They are most interested in organization and community building, harm reduction, and supporting people on the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent spectrums.

Sam believes the frameworks of harm reduction and decolonial social work provide a starting framework for solving social problems and supporting our fellow person. They have found the compounding impacts of oppression on people with mental disorders and intersecting identities must be addressed through creative, multi-level approaches that take a holistic perspective of people in their environment.

Sam wants to build spaces that provide opportunities for engagement, hope, and radical acceptance, especially to people who are marginalized and under-served. By centering people as the experts of their own experience, they aim to foster strong therapeutic partnerships that empower clients to thrive.
